Bonnie J. Dattel, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Bonnie
J. Dattel,
M.D., received her undergraduate degree from the University of California,
Santa Barbara in 1975.
She
attended the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine
from 1975 through 1979, and then completed an internship and residency
in the Department of Reproductive Medicine at UCSD in 1983.
After residency training, Dr. Dattel
pursued a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of
California, San Francisco, and became the first recipient of the Kennedy-Dannruether
Fellowship Award from the American Gynecology and Obstetrics Society.
Dr. Dattel is currently
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Associate Director of
Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Assistant Dean for Women’s Affairs at
Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). She also serves as the director
for the Tidewater Regional AIDS Center. Dr. Dattel is active in national
medical and women’s organizations including: American College of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Society for Maternal-Fetal
Medicine, American Medical Association, the Virginia OB/GYN Society,
Southern Medical Association and North American Society for Pediatric
and Adolescent Gynecology.
She received the “Outstanding Professional Women in Hampton Roads” award
in 1998. She serves as a reviewer for several peer review journals and
for the NIH/NICHD.
Dr. Dattel has
contributed to the medical literature in the form of peer reviewed
articles, book chapters, monographs, audio/visual tapes, and Web sites
on a variety of subjects including HIV, Adolescent Issues, Domestic
Violence, High Risk Pregnancy, Sexual Violence, Breast Health and The
Placenta.
She also serves as an Examiner for the American Board of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists. |
