Nutritional Counseling in Pregnancy

A certified perinatal dietitian is available to provide individualized dietary management when clinically indicated. Possible reasons for needing specialized nutritional counseling include but are not limited to:

  • Preconception counseling
  • Teen Pregnancy
  • Diabetes in pregnancy
  • Hyperemesis gravidarum (excessive vomiting in pregnancy)
  • Excessive weight gain or loss
  • Vegetarianism
  • Eating disorders (e.g. anorexia nervosa or bulimia)
  • Hyperlipidemia (elevated cholesterol/triglyceride)
  • Gastrointestinal disorders (Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease
  • Hypertension
  • Anemia
  • Renal or liver disease
  • Endocrine disorders: osteoporosis, thyroid disease
  • Cancer
  • Sports nutrition
  • Food allergies/intolerance
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Multiple Births
  • Infant/child feeding
  • Breast feeding
